. the reason i said that was because by picking paul ryan, it opened up that argument of the republican party as extreme and the democrats just pounced on that as you would expect them to do. and the country does not want those extreme aspects of the republican party, those extreme right wing policies. they do realize that's what got us into this trouble both overseas with the war in iraq and also with the economy. and they are not going for it anymore. the republic no longer believes that the way to help middle class and low-income families is to give more money to the rich. so i thought that mitt romney would pivot to the middle. he decided not to do that. >> i feel like the country republicans people in the middle and on the left want a republican party that's essentially giving a good fight. so we can have a big hashed out discussion about how to fix our problems. i'll be talking more about that later in the show about something that's been left out of the campaign. but i think even the left is rooting for the republican party to get its act together. >> because we don't want one party. w

the trail solo since paul ryan will be in colorado, but the two did campaign together yesterday for the first time in almost a month. romney and ryan walked out to the song "the boys are back in town." that's cute. and then they tried to lead a chant, but that didn't go to well, since no one else chimed in. romney is down eight points against obama in ohio in the latest "washington post" poll. in that is bad news because of the fact that no republican candidate has ever taken the white house without care rig the state. but team romney still thinks they are within the margin of error. they are also hoping that ryan can save the ticket. as for president obama, he is dolling out plenty of money in ohio. this is something we see every four years as presidential candidates pay particular at attention to certain swing states. in this case it's president obama with ohio. ohio took home four time as much energy as any other state from the clen energy tax credit and it has the largest loan in the history of the u.s. small business administration. we are back wit

that there are skewed polls. paul ryan was the latest one to join on the bandwagon last night talking about wisconsin. >> i don't believe that particular poll. i won't get into the methodologies about it. >> they weren't talking about a specific poll in na statement, which sounds like it doesn't matter to him which poll it is but it's tainted. what's your take on this? we've heard it a lot over the last 48 hours. >> look at all the polls. if you go to realclearpolitics.com, for instance, in every poll in every swing state the president is a hit, it's hard to find a poll in a swing state where romney is leading. if you look at the data right now, we're looking at an election that looks more like 2008 than 2004. the president is ahead in almost every swing state, whether you look at gallup pews or pugh poll or nbc news polls, the president is far ahead right now. romney does five points nationally in some big swing state that romney does need a big move in the debates to change the game. anytime a campaign says a poll is wrong, it's a sign they're not doing well from my experience doing politics. >> su
